Tips for Fall Weddings

Having a wedding in the Fall season can allow for the perfect backdrop of falling autumn leaves.  This will allow for an ideal atmosphere when it comes to shooting your wedding pictures or video.  And if you’re from Texas, you’re probably just happy to be done with the helter skelter of the summer swelter.  That being said, there are a few things to consider when having an autumn wedding.

1.  ”The Colors Duke! The Colors!!…I’m colorblind kid”

Just like the kid in the popsicle commercial said, the colors, the colors! Indeed.  In any wedding season colors are an important thing to bear in mind.  However, with a fall wedding, there’s no reason to “fall” into the cliche of the autumn color scheme.  Sure there are some leafy hues and earthly tones that look great, but if you want your wedding to be unique try something different.  Test some of these colors with some brighter hues to see which you like the best.  Using a lighter color will accent the warm fall colors.

2.  ”Don’t leave ‘em out in the cold”

Fall weather can be hard to predict, especially in Texas! It could be a hot 90degrees or a chilly 60degrees on any given day.  So, make sure to check the weather forecast and keep your guests updated as to what kind of weather to expect.  This way they’ll be prepared for whatever the crazy Texas weather has in store for your wedding day/night.

3.  ”Mark your calendar”

Believe it or not, there are actually BAD days to have a wedding, holidays.  However, with a little planning and research, one can avoid these days which might be inconvenient to some of your guests.  Here are some of the big holidays you might have to work around: Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 4-6), Rosh Hashanah (Sept. 8-10), Yom Kippur (Sept. 18), Thanksgiving (Nov. 25).  Not only will your guests appreciate it, but travelling will also be more efficient (and cheaper!) when avoiding holidays.
