Easy "weighs" to look great on your wedding day!

Preparing a wedding can be highly demanding and super stressful.  It is in this time of stress that many brides turn to unhealthy habits for comfort and release which often lead to gaining unwanted weight.  Then when the big day comes, you have that really attractive pouch bulging from under your dress.  People will ask, “Oh, are you expecting?” And you’ll reply,  “Yes, a food baby.”  Every bride wants to look great on her big day, it’s no big secret. Here are some really easy ways to make sure you stay healthy and look great for your wedding day.

1. Bottoms up! – Drink water

Believe it or not, drinking more water can actually help you lose weight.  It’ll keep you hydrated and allow your body to flush out toxins easier.  It’s best to drink around 8 glasses of water a day.  Try to drink a glass of water before meals, so that way you’ll feel full faster.  And if it’s late at night and you’re searching for a snack, grab a glass of water instead, your body will appreciate it.  Especially if you’re a big soda or tea drinker, switching to water for awhile will definitely make a huge difference.

2. Throw some Zzz’s on it – Sleep more

We understand, you’re trying to juggle your normal life with planning a wedding, but it’s important to not lose sleep over it!  Recent studies have shown that a lack of sleep can cause weight gain.  So make sure to get in those 8 hours every night and before you know it, you’ll be sleeping yourself thin!

3. Wakey Wakey, Eggs and Bakey! – Eat breakfast

When they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it’s probably because it’s true.  Studies have shown that starting your day off with a good breakfast, more often than not, leads to more energy throughout the day as well as a healthier, smaller appetite when it comes time for lunch or dinner.  Personally, I love  cereal in the mornings.  It’s a fast, simple breakfast that’ll go a long way.  Not to mention they’re packed full of vitamins and minerals.

4. Take that extra step – Exercise

You’d be surprised at how much difference a little exercise can make.  Whether it’s taking a stroll around the block or taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking more will help increase your metabolism as well as burn off calories.  Walking is not only a great way to stay healthy but can also act as the perfect stress reliever. Burned out on wedding stuff?  Take a stroll around the neighborhood or a nearby park and get your mind at ease.  Texas weather too hot for you? Try stretching.  I took a Pilates class this past spring and let me tell you, half of it is stretching to help create better  body alignment and posture making your body seem taller and thinner.  Follow these 4 steps and you’ll be on your way to looking fantastic on your wedding day!
