Austin, as many of you know, is an entertainment hot-spot. Due to the number of artists that call Austin home there is a much wider selection of choices than just about anywhere else. If you are having a wedding in Austin this can make it a daunting task to choose your wedding entertainment. Obviously, the first thing to do is decide what type of entertainment you want for your wedding. Most weddings we film have a band, but more and more are going the DJ route. With bands out there like The Pictures and Dysfunkshun Junkshun its hard to turn away from what they have to offer. The band or DJ can, in some cases, make or break the party after the wedding. If you have a good band with a front-man that has a little personality it can really transform the evening into all out party. The same goes for a DJ who can read the mood of the party and play those perfect songs at just the right moment.
Some couples though don’t really want a wild and crazy party and are just looking for some music to set the mood. You can’t go wrong with a good string quartet. A good quartet can even play during the wedding itself and at the reception set the mood for a high class evening. Whatever type of entertainment you choose, be sure and get some recommendations from friends and even other vendors you have already hired. The fact is, most vendors are at a wedding almost every weekend and can probably match you up with the right band or DJ depending on your preferences.
